About me

“Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.” Thomas Merton

Georgia Geis in her studio

Hi my name is Georgia Geis. I’m so glad you found your way to my website. I have always felt the need to create. My mother was an artist (when she could find the time) and my dad was quite the story teller. I guess I inherited my passion for telling stories through my art from them.

I want to share my art and stories with you!  As you probably guessed I’m a huge movie and history buff. I hope to capture some of the glitz  and magic of early Hollywood, the suspense and intrigue of Hitchcock and the quirkiness of Zardoz and Barbarella —As well as shine light on those stories in history that inspire us.

My main medium is hand carving rubber blocks and linoleum to make relief prints. I also love working with polymer clay to make folk jewelry and mini shrines. I would love to create something for you. How about a custom stamp or print made just for you?! Or a hand sewn journal with customizable covers, thread and ribbon bookmarks!?
